This is the original court house for Gympie. It was located in Reef Street, behind the current Surface Hill Church. The dapper looking dude in the top hat is the Gold Commissioner for Wide Bay, Henry Edward King. He served from November 1867 to July 1870. After serving the Gympie Community, he transitioned into politics and became a member of the Queensland Legislative Assembly, holding the seat for Wide Bay.
