Agoraphobia is an anxiety disorder wherein affected persons feel extremely anxious to leave their comfort zone, such as home, or to be in a situation where they cannot easily leave if they were to experience panic.

A study was conducted to assess the effect of the drug imipramine on the treatment of patients with agoraphobia and panic disorder. The three treatment groups were control; low dose of 1.4 mg per kilogram of body weight, and a high dose of 3 milligrams per kilogram of body weight. There were seventy subjects, with thirty assigned at random to the control and twenty to each of the treatments. Subjects were classified as responders or non-responders to treatment based on battery psychological test
